27 Sep ─ 5 Oct 2018
LAUFEN INNOVATION HUB
Opening hours: 10 am – 7 pm
Salzgries 21, 1010 Vienna
On the occasion of Vienna Design Week, EOOS Design stages what will later become an interface and platform for creative minds on around 600sqm, with an invitation to a sneak preview at the Laufen Innovation Hub at Marienstiege. On display will be art, analogue and digital as well as visionary, futuristic-looking works on a scientific basis. EOOS Design sculpturally symbolises a battery of microbial fuel cells and lets us see the light with your donation of phosphorus. Behind this is the development of Prof. Ioannis Ieropoulos, a leading bio-robotician who uses the metabolic processes of bacteria to generate energy. The art comes from the Keramik Symposium Gmunden, an Artists in Residence programme; founded in 1963 by Kurt Ohnsorg, developed and fired at the Laufen Werk in Gmunden.

«Ofenwagen» / Permanent installation by EOOS
At the starting point of this poetic production were the carriages moving slowly
through the approximately one hundred meter long, orange glowing kiln tunnel.
The installation does not only show the finished products but also the state
of their formation in the „eternally“ burning fire.
