HOTEL BEETHOVEN, VIENNA, AUSTRIA

The “Beethoven” is located in a quiet side street close to the “Naschmarkt”, just a few walking minutes away from the opera, the music club, the museum quarter and the shopping streets. Built in 1902 in the new renaissance style, it has been run as a hotel since 1953.

In spring 2017 the “Beethoven” hotel was renovated and reopened under new management. The interior designer Raimund Brunmair from studio Quas has transformed the former Best-Western-House to an extraordinary Boutique hotel for cultural and city travelers with 47 individually designed rooms and suites.

The interior represents a skillful combination of tradition and innovation. Each of the six floors is dedicated to a typical topic for Vienna, for example the coffeehouse literati, the artists of the secession, the “Theater an der Wien” and love. Each of the individually designed rooms by Brunmair is named after a great historical person: Franz Liszt, Ludwig van Beethoven, Gustav Klimt, etc. A mix of lovingly restored antiques, wallpapers made individually for each room, and original individual pieces is a convincing feature here.

Located in the middle of “Naschmarkt”, “Theater an der Wien”, “Secession” and “Gumpendorfer Strasse”, the “Beethoven” also relies on exclusivity in the bathrooms: with products from the designer series Living Square and Kartell • LAUFEN as well as the shower toilet Cleanet Riva. Thanks to the smart design of the Swiss Peter Wirz, the latter can’t be distinguished visually from a classic toilet – and therefore also perfectly suitable for hotel bathrooms.
