Czech Nature Photo: WATER

Come see June 1st - July 31st 2026 a selection of photographs by Czech and Slovak artists, all sharing a single theme: water.

The exhibition Czech Nature Photo: Water presents a selection of photographs from previous editions of the Czech Nature Photo competition, united by the theme of water as one of the fundamental prerequisites for life on Earth. Water appears here in many forms – as landscape, environment, elemental force, habitat and fragile ecosystem whose balance is becoming increasingly vulnerable.

Czech Nature Photo has long presented the beauty, diversity and vulnerability of nature through the photographs of Czech and Slovak authors. The selection, loaned to LAUFEN, a long-standing partner of Czech Photo, naturally reflects the shared theme of a responsible relationship with water, landscape and the environment in which we live.

The motif of water gains even greater significance in this year’s jubilee 10th edition of Czech Nature Photo. The theme of water protection is highlighted in the competition as a reminder of the importance of aquatic ecosystems, their biodiversity and the need for a sensitive approach to the natural environment. As part of its long-term cooperation with Czech Photo, LAUFEN also supports, among other things, an award whose trophy is created in cooperation with the Czech design and glassmaking company LASVIT.

The exhibition is therefore not only a presentation of powerful images of nature. It is also a reminder that water must not be taken for granted. It is a source of life, a home to countless organisms, a bearer of beauty and a warning of how closely the future of humankind is connected with care for the natural environment.
