The reason being it is the only material recognised in this field that fulfils the highest demands for hygiene – not least of all due to the impervious properties (practically no water absorption) of the fired, unglazed fragment.
Displaying an arbitrary, non-linear shrinkage amounting to more than ten percent during the drying and firing process the material sanitary ceramic is very difficult to master. With regard to the material‘s own design language that means the most aesthetic effect is achieved with soft, round flowing contours. However, thanks to the know-how handed down from generation to generation Laufen is able to use this material to create large level surfaces and precision edges. The option sof individually printing some washbasins or the ability to supply cut-to-size products ex works offers more freedom for those special planning ideas and problem-solving solutions.
To create toilets with clean, geometric shapes and defined edges, the ceramic material has to be mastered expertly.
