As a result of his long-standing relationship with LAUFEN, Dimitriadis has designed the LIVING, PALACE and FLORAKIDS complete bathroom collections, the MySpa shower system and multiple faucet collections.
After studying Product Design at Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd, Andreas Dimitriadis worked for Phoenix Design for many years, which is when his professional relationship with LAUFEN began. In 2007 he founded his own design studio, platinumdesign, whose team comprises designers, CAD specialists and model makers. Designing everything from telephones and navigation equipment to sewing machines and bathrooms, the studio focuses on giving every shape a clear function.
platinumdesign seeks to offer added value in every design, pleasantly surprising users with functionality and emotional appeal. This design philosophy is applied to every project, including those for Bernina, Bosch, Gigaset, Huawei, Loewe, Leica Geosystems, Navigon and LAUFEN.
The studio has a proven track record of design success and has been recognised by international awards including the Red Dot Design Award, the IDSA Gold Award, the iF Design Award, the Plus X Award and the German Design Award.
With a relationship spanning well over a decade, Andreas Dimitriadis’ collaboration with LAUFEN has led to the creation of a number of collections. From the complete bathroom collections LIVING, PALACE and FLORAKIDS to multiple faucet collections and the MySpa shower system, Dimitriadis’ emotional and functional design principle expands across a range of product categories.
The first collection to be produced on an industrial scale in Saphirkeramik, LIVING demonstrates the ceramic material’s potential in creating ultra-slim contours. The collection’s clean, minimalist aesthetics manifest in versatile pieces that offer freedom in pairing to create the perfect bathroom.

As its name suggests, FLORAKIDS is a colourful collection designed for young children. Flower-shaped washbasins, cloud shelves and caterpillar mirrors transform the bathroom into a playful space with child-friendly proportions and clever grips. The collection is ideal for homes, nurseries and pre-schools.
The bathroom and kitchen faucets and shower mixers TWINPLUS, TWINPLUS SLIM, THERM and VARA seamlessly complement the aesthetics of other series. The faucets’ sophisticated contours pair with exceptional functionality – like Eco+ technology, which reduces water use – adding beautiful details that enhance the user experience.
From a refreshing rainforest waterfall to the calming sound of the sea, MySpa transforms daily showering into a multisensory experience. Light, water elements and sound can be personalised with an intuitive touch display to recreate the spa experience.
Based on a shared pursuit of excellence, the collaboration between LAUFEN and Andreas Dimitriadis has lasted well over two decades. The designer was the first to work with Saphirkeramik and has developed multiple categories of products, from sanitaryware and faucets to a digital shower system. Balancing visual appeal with practical considerations, Dimitriadis’ pieces are defined by functional elegance.
