LAUFEN joins DesignDays.Berlin 2026 with events exploring design, material innovation and architecture, from Berlin Gallery to Yves Behar’s Summit participation.
LAUFEN joins the first edition of DesignDays.Berlin as Presenting Partner, contributing to a city-wide programme of encounters exploring design, architecture and the future of our living spaces.
DesignDays.Berlin introduces a new platform that brings together Berlin’s creative energy across different locations and disciplines. For LAUFEN, the partnership extends an ongoing dialogue around design and architecture, the responsible use of resources and the role of design in improving everyday living spaces.
From 24 to 26 September 2026, DesignDays.Berlin will bring together professionals, creatives and design enthusiasts across the German capital. Marking 20 years since Berlin was designated a UNESCO City of Design, the new platform will reflect the diversity of the city’s creative landscape, spanning interiors, architecture, craftsmanship and design.
LAUFEN will contribute to the programme through a series of selected events, including the VIP Opening Dinner, an exclusive Speakers & Architects Lunch and the DD.B Summit. Throughout the Design Days, visitors will also have the opportunity to discover Berlin Gallery on Kantstraße and experience VITREON Steel, LAUFEN’s latest material innovation.
During DesignDays.Berlin, visitors are invited to explore Berlin Gallery and discover LAUFEN’s approach to materials, products and contemporary bathroom culture.
Conceived by Konstantin Grcic, Berlin Gallery is more than a conventional showroom. It is a platform for presentation, experimentation and exchange, connecting customers, designers, architects, craftspeople and creative thinkers. As part of the DesignDays.Berlin programme, the gallery will also host the exclusive DD.B Speakers & Architects Lunch, continuing its role as a meeting place for dialogue across creative disciplines.
Visitors to the space will be able to experience VITREON Steel, LAUFEN’s latest launch. Smooth as glass and strong as steel, the material combines the precision and durability of steel with the refined surface qualities of glass. Its slim profiles, distinctive finishes and subtle colour nuances open up new possibilities for form, materiality and architectural expression in the bathroom.
Presented within the setting conceived by Grcic, VITREON Steel demonstrates how LAUFEN brings together material research, advanced manufacturing and design to create coherent bathroom environments.
Opening hours during DesignDays.Berlin:
Thursday, 24 September: 09:00–14:00
Friday, 25 September: 09:00–12:00
On the afternoon of 25 September, LAUFEN’s participation will continue at the DD.B Summit, held at MOKKA*MILCH on Karl-Marx-Allee. From 16:00 to 18:30, the venue will become a forum for new ideas and discussions about the future of design.
Yves Behar will participate in the first of the Summit’s panel discussions. The internationally recognised designer and founder of fuseproject works at the intersection of design, innovation and social responsibility.
For LAUFEN, Behar created VOLTA, a washbasin collection that reconsiders the relationship between water and ceramic form. Its distinctive spiral architecture places water at the centre of the experience, setting it in motion and making its natural flow visible within the basin.
VOLTA was inspired by LAUFEN’s E-Kiln in Gmunden, Austria, the world’s first electric tunnel kiln for sanitary ceramics. Operating emission-free, this pioneering technology represents a major advance in the decarbonisation of ceramic production. Manufactured in the E-Kiln, VOLTA brings together Behar’s design vision with LAUFEN’s industrial expertise and commitment to more responsible production.
