At KBC 2026, LAUFEN showcased innovative bathroom concepts, advanced materials and new faucet collections in Shanghai.
Following its presentation during Milan Design Week 2026, the Experience Tomorrow concept arrived in Shanghai, inviting visitors to explore a vision of the bathroom shaped by design innovation, material expertise and Swiss precision.
The stand presented a series of carefully curated environments that explored the relationship between architecture, materials, light and colour. Translating the creative direction introduced in Milan into a new context, the exhibition demonstrated how the bathroom continues to evolve beyond its functional role to become an integral part of contemporary living spaces.
A central part of the presentation focused on LAUFEN's latest developments in materials and manufacturing. Among the highlights was VITREON Steel, a new material that combines the precision and durability of steel with the refined aesthetic qualities of glass.
Presented through a range of washbasins and furniture combinations, the material showcased new possibilities in colour, form and surface expression. Together with the brand's expertise in ceramics and bathroom architecture, these innovations reflected an ongoing commitment to craftsmanship, technological progress and timeless contemporary design.
Among the highlights presented in Shanghai was VOLTA, the bathroom collection designed by Yves Behar. Conceived around the idea of simplicity and emotional connection, the collection reinterprets familiar bathroom archetypes through soft geometries, carefully balanced proportions and a distinctive visual language.
Presented within the Experience Tomorrow exhibition concept, VOLTA demonstrated how contemporary bathroom design can combine functionality, accessibility and architectural character. Its presence at KBC 2026 further reinforced LAUFEN's commitment to creating solutions that respond to evolving lifestyles while maintaining a strong design identity.
KBC 2026 also marked the arrival in China of the new chapter for Kartell by LAUFEN. Thirteen years after the launch of the collaboration, the project continues to evolve through a renewed design direction by Ferruccio Laviani.
The latest developments expand the collection's expressive language, exploring colour, modularity and material innovation through furniture solutions and integrated washbasins. Presented in Shanghai as part of the Experience Tomorrow narrative, the collection demonstrated how design can create spaces that are both functional and emotionally engaging.
One of the key highlights of the exhibition was the introduction of an extensive new faucet portfolio, significantly expanding LAUFEN's offering within the bathroom space.
Designed to complement a wide variety of architectural settings, the new collections combine technical precision with refined aesthetics, tactile quality and versatility. Presented alongside ceramics, furniture and bathing solutions, they contribute to a coherent design language and reinforce a holistic approach to bathroom design.
As one of the leading trade fairs for the bathroom industry in Asia, Kitchen & Bath China remains an important meeting point for professionals shaping the future of architecture and design.
Through its presence in Shanghai, LAUFEN strengthened its dialogue with the region while sharing its latest innovations with architects, designers and developers. The exhibition reaffirmed the brand's commitment to creating complete bathroom solutions that combine design excellence, material innovation and responsible manufacturing.
