LAUFEN supports three national pavilions at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025
From 10 May to 23 November 2025, Venice becomes the global stage for architectural dialogue with the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Continuing its long-standing commitment to architecture and design, LAUFEN is proud to sponsor the national pavilions of Switzerland, Austria, and Germany — three countries where the brand operates major production sites.
Each pavilion presents a bold response to some of today’s most urgent architectural challenges: climate change, housing inequality, and gender representation in architecture.
The Swiss Pavilion, curated by a collective of five women, pays tribute to pioneering architect Lisbeth Sachs and reimagines a lost icon of women’s architectural history — the SAFFA Art Hall of 1958. The immersive, multi-sensory installation explores materiality, sound, and space through a feminist lens, questioning the male-dominated legacy of architecture in the Giardini.
The Austrian Pavilion contrasts two radically different approaches to urban housing: Vienna’s public housing model and Rome’s self-organised occupation movements. Through dialogue, events and exhibitions, the pavilion creates a platform to rethink how cities can address the global housing crisis.
With its two-part installation STRESSTEST, the German Pavilion examines how rising temperatures and extreme weather will shape the future of cities. Visitors move between zones of “Stress” and “Destress”, experiencing both the threats and the potential design responses to a warming world.
Our support for these pavilions reflects our broader commitment to sustainability and innovation in architecture. With the launch of the E-Kiln, the world’s first electric tunnel kiln for ceramics, and Cradle to Cradle certification for our Austrian factory, we are actively decarbonising bathroom production. As part of Roca Group, we aim to achieve net zero emissions by 2045.
Through our ongoing engagement with the Venice Architecture Biennale, we continue to empower architects to build a more sustainable and inclusive future.
