LAUFEN opens a new Gallery in Cologne’s Rheinauhafen
A new space on the Rhine brings bathroom design, material exploration and architectural dialogue together.
At DOCK 6 in Cologne’s Rheinauhafen, LAUFEN is opening a new meeting place for architecture, design and bathroom culture. Opening on 27 October 2026, the LAUFEN Roca Cologne Gallery places the brands at the centre of a 200 m² space conceived for exploring bathroom concepts and exchanging ideas.
The former commercial harbour provides a distinctive architectural context. Historic structures sit alongside contemporary buildings, while expansive glass façades connect the Gallery with the Rhine. Stone surfaces and views towards the water frame an exhibition that invites visitors to consider materials, proportions and the relationship between individual elements and the bathroom as a whole.
Bathroom design in context
Coordinated bathroom settings reveal how colour, light and surfaces shape the experience of a space. Kartell by LAUFEN and VITREON steel feature alongside furniture, taps, accessories and installation systems, expressing an approach to bathroom design in which each element contributes to a coherent architectural composition.
For architects, interior designers and planners, the Gallery offers an opportunity to examine materials and finishes at close range and explore how different solutions work together. It also welcomes bathroom professionals and visitors interested in contemporary bathroom design.
A place for exchange
This opening brings the new Gallery into Roca Group’s international network of Galleries, connecting Cologne with spaces in cities including Barcelona, Milan, Vienna, London, Beijing, São Paulo and Sydney among others. Rooted in the local architecture and design community, its programme will include talks, events and professional meetings.
