Especially today, when ‘noise smog’ is becoming overwhelming in many areas of our lives, a lot of people are grateful when everyday sources of noise are minimised. The growing number of low-noise washing machines and dishwashers that are sold speaks volumes. Today, LAUFEN is driving this trend forwards in the bathroom with its new, ultra-quiet Silent Flush 2.0 WCs.
To generate the swirl of water needed for the toilet to flush quietly, the rimless interior basin of the Silent Flush 2.0 toilet has been specially shaped to direct the water along a perfectly optimised spiral path – which changes nothing with regard to the familiar exterior design of the toilet. The precise channelling of the water produces less airborne noise, as well as less structure-borne noise, which means that the flush is virtually silent and meets even the most stringent sound insulation requirements including SIA 181 and DIN 4109.
Airborne noise is transmitted through the air and the noise is perceived as such by the user. Structure-borne sound, on the other hand, spreads through the actual building and can, for example, wake the other occupants of a flat or people in the adjacent room of a hotel when the toilet is flushed at night. If the Silent Flush 2.0 WC is properly soundproofed from the structure of the building, it can hardly be heard at all – which is why LAUFEN supplies all of its new wall-mounted WCs with special soundproofing pads.
