Schneider introduces the notion of soft clubbing, redefining nightlife as a ritual of slowness and collective presence. “It’s about designing for the nervous system,” she explains, “spaces where people can arrive, connect, and simply be.”
From 17 to 22 June 2025, LAUFEN supports the Basel edition of BREATHE WITH ME, an immersive installation by Swiss-born, New York-based experience designer Annabelle Schneider. Presented during Art Basel Week, the installation transforms a nightclub in central Basel into a sensory refuge — a space to reconnect with oneself and others through breath, light, sound, and scent.
Following previous editions in New York and Barcelona, also supported by LAUFEN, this homecoming marks a new evolution of the artist’s acclaimed concept. BREATHE WITH ME invites visitors into a softly breathing cocoon, a space where emotional well-being, calm, and intentional design converge.
As part of its long-standing commitment to the arts, LAUFEN is also hosting a dedicated event during the week:
Architecture During Art: Perspectives from Practice – a panel discussion exploring architecture’s evolving role in contemporary culture. Registration is open to all professionals attending Art Basel.
At LAUFEN, we continue to support design as a catalyst for emotional resonance and shared experience — values embodied by BREATHE WITH ME and the wider cultural programme of Art Basel Week.
