Truly Swiss: Ceramic and Art at Design Miami
December 2023
“Le Salon Suisse”, a new cultural initiative during Miami Art Week promoted by Switzerland Tourism North America, took place December 6 and hosted a series of meetings and talks revolving around the world of art, fashion and creativity, demonstrating the heritage and uniqueness of the various Swiss cantons.
LAUFEN was a partner in this event: an ideal setting to express the values and the role of the brand and to showcase our collaboration with the world of design, architecture and art.
What’s ceramic got to do with art?
Beyond an extensive focus on a technological level, we have a long tradition of cultivating a fertile dialogue and strong interactions with the world of design, art and architecture. Our brand participated in various editions of Art Basel in both Switzerland and Miami over the last 10 years, inviting artists from multiple cultural disciplines to experiment with new forms for the ceramics developed by LAUFEN.

On the occasion of this year’s Le Salon Suisse, the brand presented some pieces from The Home Collection, a series of small sculptures originating from artists’ and young designers’ experimentation with ceramics which is shown as well in our LAUFEN space Miami.
